Busy Week at the Garden!
We hosted two groups at the garden last week and shared the satisfaction that comes from working the land side-by-side for the benefit of others in need in our community. On Saturday, a group of volunteers from Summit Church in Apex arrived bright and early. They came in all ages, including a five-month-old baby in a sling! Following a brief orientation and tour, everyone broke into three sub-groups. Celebrate the Garden’s Third Year! Join us on Oct. 27 for our potluck supper!
Potluck supper Oct.27@6pm; AUMC Fellowship Hall; #2. Bring a dish to share (it need not contain garden grown ingredients). After dinner and a short break, all who wish to stay for the 2012 planning meeting are welsome to stay. Please note: Just as in the garden, well supervised children are always welcome.
Volunteer opportunities
In addition to our garden work on scheduled garden workdays, including soil prep, planting, watering, weeding etc., there are other important supporting tasks that make the garden go. See some examples below. If you would like to sign up to help with any of these on particular dates, please go to our sign-up sheet by clicking the button below. Many hands make light work!
