Busy Week at the Garden!
We hosted two groups at the garden last week and shared the satisfaction that comes from working the land side-by-side for the benefit of others in need in our community. On Saturday, a group of volunteers from Summit Church in Apex arrived bright and early. They came in all ages, including a five-month-old baby in a sling! Following a brief orientation and tour, everyone broke into three sub-groups. The Fall Garden is Gorgeous
As summer fades to fall, the garden’s greens will surely brighten your day! Along with collards and chard, you’ll find peas, turnips, carrots, and many other treats. Besides the bounty of the earth, the Fruit of the Spirit is also nourished in the peaceful and friendly world of the Simple Gifts Community Garden. Volunteer opportunities
In addition to our garden work on scheduled garden workdays, including soil prep, planting, watering, weeding etc., there are other important supporting tasks that make the garden go.
