As you may have noticed, it’s HOT out there! Garden Leader Linda says we’ll be smart about it and start early this Thursday to stay on the cooler side of the day. Please come an hour earlier than usual, starting at 8 AM, and we’ll wrap up no later than 10 AM. We are in peak harvest season, racking up 100+ most workdaya, all of which is a big help to those in need in our community. See you in the morning!
As summer fades to fall, the garden’s greens will surely brighten your day! Along with collards and chard, you’ll find peas, turnips, carrots, and many other treats. Besides the bounty of the earth, the Fruit of the Spirit is also nourished in the peaceful and friendly world of the Simple Gifts Community Garden. Why not drop by TUESDAYS from 5-7 pm, or SATURDAYS from 9-12? After a visit to the garden, you’re sure to realize that SIMPLE GIFTS are not only given; they are richly received! …
In addition to our garden work on scheduled garden workdays, including soil prep, planting, watering, weeding etc., there are other important supporting tasks that make the garden go. See some examples below. If you would like to sign up to help with any of these on particular dates, please go to our sign-up sheet by clicking the button below. Many hands make light work!
