The Summit Church is bringing upwards of 30 people this Saturday to help in the garden. They are very excited to be coming and we are very excited to have them. We will start with tours while the harvest is underway, and then break into teams to help with the maintenance and beautification of our beloved oasis. It is an excellent opportunity for The Summit Church members to serve and an excellent opportunity for our garden to get a welcomed dose of TLC. Hopefully, we’ll get some new members too!

Now the reminder: First and foremost, Simple Gifts Community Garden exists to help supply local food pantries with quality organic produce. By furthering this mission, we as members enjoy the benefits of outdoor recreation (“dirt therapy”), camaraderie and personal enrichment. For the hard work that you do, we certainly encourage you to reward yourself with a sample of the harvest to take home. But please, be mindful of the amount. Take a little bit for your family, but not enough for your family reunion.

I look forward to seeing you Saturday!
