Weather: Sunny, 45-50 degrees, wind 14 mph from the north

We are well into our first of three seasons for the 2026 garden year, and things are looking pretty darned good! For those keeping score at home, this is our fourth year to garden at our new home on Tingen Road. Here is what it looked like as we were just getting started in 2023 . . .

Believe it or not, we already have 32 row crops growing right now, , not including the asparagus and raspberries, just three weeks into the season. Some of these, such as strawberries, collards, and kale, have carried over from the fall, but many are new plantings, and we are pretty much set for the spring crops. We are even harvesting kale and collards for the food banks already.

We have some trays of tomato and eggplant seedlings that Larry germinated for us that need to be potted this Saturday. This is a delicate operation, and Larry and Penny will show you how. Due to the hot, dry weather so far this spring, hand watering is key for all new plantings and other plants not on the irrigation system. Be prepared to help with that, please. Also, we are keeping ahead of the weeds as best we can, so we’ll need folks to help weed and mulch.

Membership (new or renewal)

If you are new or just need to renew your membership, we have a new, paperless system that only takes a few minutes to complete online. You can do this from any device. Please be sure to register for 2026, if you have not done so already.
