Garden cancelled tomorrow – early hours this TUESDAY!
It looks like we will very likely have heavy rain tomorrow morning including the possibility of severe weather so Saturday garden is cancelled. We will start Tuesday garden this coming week though and the mid week weather looks much improved! Normal garden hours this time of year for Tuesdays is 5-7pm. A New Home for Purple Martins at Simple Gifts Community Garden
Continuing the garden’s partnership with the South Wake Conservationists, we were happy to install a new purple martin house assembly at the garden, just in time for nesting season. These amazing birds are just coming in from Brazil for the spring and early summer, as part of their annual migration. In addition to our garden work on scheduled garden workdays, including soil prep, planting, watering, weeding etc., there are other important supporting tasks that make the garden go.
