The garden is a sight to behold from a few hundred feet high! Carl has given us a new perspective through the lens of his new (and really cool) drone, which he flew over the garden yesterday and this morning. What a terrific year at Simple Gifts Community Garden! On a brisk, but pleasant, morning yesterday, many of our garden volunteers came out to finish up some final tasks for the season. Of special note was planting the last perennial row in the garden with some robustly-rooted asparagus plants, generously donated by the Casavant family. In addition to our garden work on scheduled garden workdays, including soil prep, planting, watering, weeding etc., there are other important supporting tasks that make the garden go.
