This will be our second open house since our grand opening in May of 2024. Once again, we are co-hosting this event with South Wake Conservationists, which is offering a native plant sale as part of the event. We had an estimated 150-200 visitors last year, and it takes a team to prepare for and host this event. Can you help? Meanwhile, as we enter our third week of the season, the garden is off to a tremendous start. Numerous rows have already been prepped and planted, the pollinator plants have been cleaned up, the herb garden has been weeded…
As summer fades to fall, the garden’s greens will surely brighten your day! Along with collards and chard, you’ll find peas, turnips, carrots, and many other treats. Besides the bounty of the earth, the Fruit of the Spirit is also nourished in the peaceful and friendly world of the Simple Gifts Community Garden. Why not drop by TUESDAYS from 5-7 pm, or SATURDAYS from 9-12? After a visit to the garden, you’re sure to realize that SIMPLE GIFTS are not only given; they are richly received! …
In addition to our garden work on scheduled garden workdays, including soil prep, planting, watering, weeding etc., there are other important supporting tasks that make the garden go. See some examples below. If you would like to sign up to help with any of these on particular dates, please go to our sign-up sheet by clicking the button below. Many hands make light work!
