Open House at the Garden

Simple Gifts Community Garden at 3109 Tingen Rd., Apex, NC is excited to announce our first open house since our grand opening last year. Please join us on Sat., May 31st from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM (June 14th if raining) for garden tours, kids’ activities, and refreshments. This year marks our third season at this wonderful new location—thanks to the generosity of YMCA of the Triangle. In addition to 1/2 acre of every food crop you might imagine, all organically grown, you will find a dazzling array of many different types of pollinator plants, many of which are in full bloom now.

Simple Gifts is rooted in the local community. We hope your visit will inspire you to join our avid community of gardeners in our goal of offering fresh organic produce to local food banks. Invite your friends and neighbors and bring the family!

Native Plant Sale

We are also hosting a big native plant sale by South Wake Conservationists during our open house that you won’t want to miss. Fifteen beautiful, native herbaceous-plant species to choose from! It’s all happening at the open house. Expand your pollinator garden collections while helping support the conservation work of this local NC Wildlife Federation chapter. Most plants are in quart containers, with a few in pint or gallon sizes. The team will be on hand to assist you with your plant selections, and there will be detailed information sheets available for all plants. There is also a table with fun pollinator educational activities for kids.
