Planting the seeds of hope
Dear friends, As 2021 comes to a close, we are also coming to the end of our time at what we’ve affectionately called the “Jeanne” location of Simple Gifts Community Garden. Yesterday the shed was moved to a temporary location on the campus of Apex UMC. Today the last few plants will be given to several neighboring community gardens and the last harvest of the year will go to local food banks. We have accomplished a…

Garden gold thanks to Compost Now!
Look at this beautiful compost we were gifted by Compost Now! Over 400 local people have this company pick up their compostables and then donate the end product to our garden. If you, your business or restaurant are interested, check out compost now.org!
Volunteer opportunities
In addition to our garden work on scheduled garden workdays, including soil prep, planting, watering, weeding etc., there are other important supporting tasks that make the garden go. See some examples below. If you would like to sign up to help with any of these on particular dates, please go to our sign-up sheet by clicking the button below. Many hands make light work!
