After just a few months of collecting discarded plastic film in the special recycle box at the garden, we reached the 1,000 pound threshold to receive a brand new bench from Trex.     Pollinators and a Pint of Pickled Peppers

    There was a lot happening at the garden today! In addition to the usual harvest tasks, which yielded an amazing number of beautiful cantaloupe and watermelons, the team removed rows of strawberries and cucumbers and prepped and planted several rows of fall crops. Penny led a special pollinator census among the pollinator gardens as part of the Great Southeast Pollinator Census being held across five states this weekend. In addition to our garden work on scheduled garden workdays, including soil prep, planting, watering, weeding etc., there are other important supporting tasks that make the garden go.
