Feeding the Community

A key part of our mission is to provide fresh, organic produce to members of our community in need. We work together to raise abundant and diverse crops, with the majority of the harvest donated several times a week to local food banks throughout the growing season. Our production has increased year after year since establishing the original garden in 2009. After a dip in 2020 due to Covid, safe procedures were established to continue working at the garden, and we had our highest production year ever in 2021. In December, 2021, we closed that garden for good, due to sale of the property, and had to pause production, while we searched for a new home. In March, 2023, we were fortunate to re-establish ourselves on new property generously provided by the YMCA of the Triangle, and we are quickly ramping up production again on this new land!

The garden sends freshly-harvested produce to local food banks after every workday. Volunteers are welcome to take home modest portions of the harvest for their own enjoyment, but most goes straight to the food banks. We rotate pickups/deliveries across the three local food banks below that serve our community.
