Certificate of appreciation

Simple Gifts Community Garden was honored to receive a certificate of appreciation this week from the Holly Springs Food Cupboard. Produce harvested on Tuesdays goes to this local food pantry, which serves nearly 1,500 local residents. Our garden provided 1,883 pounds of fresh, organic produce we grew in 2025 to this food pantry, serving households that do not have adequate access to this kind of nutrition. This is important work, in light of the fact that 126,110 people in Wake County—or 11.1% of the population—are food insecure, and 51% of those individuals do not qualify for federal nutrition programs.1

Thanks to all our volunteers that have made this possible!
