Thanks to everyone that came today. We got it all in by 9:30 AM for delivery to The Point Food Pantry, thanks to a tremendous response by members to come out early to harvest all the cold-susceptible produce today before the upcoming freeze settles in Monday evening. Aproximately forty gardeners, adults, kids, and even some visitors, came out and made it happen! Selected rows were retired and cleaned up for winter. Yet, we have many fall crops that continue to thrive and will yield much more on our last two Saturdays remaining, plus special workdays to be scheduled before we resume with the new season in 2026.
The weather was perfect, and the team also did some mulching and cleanup for winter in the pollinator beds, as well as creating a map of all the pollinator plants in the upper section. There were still a lot of bees and butterflies busily pollinating, including a beautiful monarch butterfly that needs to start heading down to Mexico soon!
