The Garden was Really Hoppin’ Tuesday!

We had a fantastic turnout for what is typically a modest Tuesday garden evening, with cars filling up all the spaces along the fence and both side of the cul-de-sac! The usual task list was knocked out quickly, so the team turned attention to beginning to harvest our abundant crop of potatoes. Many hands made light work, and everyone seemed to have fun doing it, especially those that had never dug up potatoes before. Then came the sorting! We also harvested more of our beautiful and delicious strawberries, raspberries, a huge amount of lettuce, kale, turnips, onions, Swiss chard, and some squash. Check out the heart-shaped potato! In the end, we delivered 150 pounds of produce to the Holly Springs Food Cupboard that evening.

And boy do those pollinator plants and companion plants look spectacular right now!

See you Saturday!
