Look Who’s Here!

We were excited to have a special visitor tonight. Anne is showing the rest of us how to not let adversity slow you down, coming out to the garden for the first time since her accident just a few weeks ago, escorted by her husband Rod. It was great to see her in her favorite element again! It was a beautiful spring evening, and aside from spending time together and catching up, we managed to still get the basic garden tasks accomplished, too. We harvested 13 pounds of lettuce, Swiss chard, kale, radishes, and strawberries for the Holly Springs Food Cupboard, plus keeping the potato beetles under control.

Please keep an eye out for a signup sheet to help with our upcoming Open House on May 31st. We will need members to help with various logistics for that event and will put out a Sign Up Genius form soon. Let’s welcome people from all around our community to visit, see what we do, and hopefully join our garden. We will also be having a native plant sale, sponsored by the South Wake Conservationists, so be sure to mark your calendars and let you friends and neighbors know.

Also, don’t forget . . . garden hours on Saturday move up to 8 AM.
