I hope you all can join us for our last workday of 2024 this Saturday from 9am to noon. We will be planting asparagus crowns, weeding and tucking in some of the beds for winter (meaning thick layers of leaf mulch) and celebrating Nathan Jesperson’s achievement as we award him the bronze President’s Volunteer Service Award! Come join us for some light work followed by celebration and refreshments at 11am!
We will not have regular official workdays after this Saturday until the first Saturday in March. You are welcome to come to the garden during that time in daylight hours. You can dump your compost, enjoy the beauty of the garden/nature at the picnic tables and harvest any herbs that overwinter (just don’t cut them too harshly during this dormant phase). Stay tuned to your email for “called” workdays over the winter months depending on weather. We will have lots of greens, root crops, kale, collards and other overwintering crops to harvest on those days. We also have a few winter projects including building a bin #5 for compost overflow, making crop signs and brainstorming fun events for next year.
Hope to see you all Saturday!
