Simple Gifts Community Garden Featured in Smithsonian Gardens Blog!

Check out the latest blog post on the Smithsonian Institution’s Smithsonian Gardens website, featuring our very own Simple Gifts Community Garden! Anne shared our story a while back, and they liked it (of course!). This was just posted today. Share this with friends and neighbors, and maybe they would like to join the fun workdays at our garden and make a real impact locally (and now recognized nationally).

We are always looking for new members. If you have not been out to the garden recently, please stop by and see the wonderful transition from an open field into a lush, thriving half-acre organic garden that regularly supplies three area food banks. Our core values bind us together to contribute to our community and the environment.

Core Values

  • Welcome all people to participate
  • Garden organically
  • Feed the food-insecure via local food banks
  • Educate about sustainability and conservation
  • Support pollinators and the ecosystem
