
The afternoon of Sunday, February 4th offers you a chance to help your community AND the Garden! Did you know that only 3% of eligible blood donors donate regularly? Every 2 seconds someone in the US needs blood – accident and burn victims, life-saving heart and transplant surgeries and those battling cancer to name a few.
Yagya Kasera, an aspiring Eagle Scout with BSA Troop 320, Fuquay Varina, NC, is coordinating with the The Blood Connection to help with the blood shortage and raise funds for a project at our Garden. He will be building a split rail fence along the ditch at the front of the garden so no one accidently drives into the ditch when parking or backing out. At a charity blood drive like this, some of the rewards go to the donor and some go to the charity. This event will allow Yagya to raise $25 per blood donation to help fund this Eagle Scout project.
