Hi everyone. Happy Independence Day!
Tomorrow’s workday will start by 8 and I will likely close things down around 11. I know that’s earlier than normal but 3 hours in the sun may be all that I can manage tomorrow. I apologize in advance if this disrupts anyone’s plans to come to the garden; hopefully everyone who is in town this weekend will be able to come early while it’s still cool! 🙂
Just a couple of maintenance notes: when you clean rocks out of beds or paths, please either haul them to the weed pile, or pile them at the end of a bed where they’re easily visible. When they’re in the path, they’re mighty hard on a lawnmower blade. Our drip tape is intentionally longer than the beds for when we have to cut out sections for repairs. Please make sure that the ends of the drip lines are folded within the bed so they don’t hang out into the paths and get accidentally nicked with a mower or weedeater. There’s a box of staples in the shed if you need more to ensure the drip lines are secure. I think I’ll put that on the worksheet tomorrow. And lastly, when using the hose, make sure to turn it off at the hose bib when finished, but be sure to leave the other hose bib where the timer is attached turned on. Thanks in advance for your help with these items (and sorry if I sound fussy–not my intent!)
Looking forward to seeing all who can join me in the morning! Perhaps some zucchini bread will be awaiting you! 🙂
Sandra
