Yam Jam is Oct. 20th!

Please check in with our friends at the Society of Saint Andrew about how you can help glean sweet potatoes at their annual Yam Jam on Saturday, Oct. 20th!  We will be gardening that day, maybe even digging sweet potatoes ourselves, but this is another great opportunity to put healthy, nutritious food on our neighbors tables.  Sweet potatoes have a long shelf life and NC is the largest grower in the country.  Farmers allow gleaners to pick up what their machinery leaves behind for area food banks.  If you’re not up to the stooping and bending, keep in mind that they need help with setup, registration and delivery (if you have a pickup or SUV).  Click on the title link above for information!
